The Modern School of Film and School of Visual Arts presents the most recent installment of MSF’s critically-acclaimed series lN:PICTURES, wherein iconic guests discuss three films that have most-influenced their life and work.
This installment features award-winning author Salman Rushdie , creator of twelve internationally-acclaimed novels, including Midnight’s Children (Booker Prize), Shame, and The Satanic Verses , as he revisits three films that have inspired his journey as a transcendent literary force.  The films Mr. Rushdie will discuss will be Satyajit Ray’s Pather Panchali, Star Wars, and Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel.
IN:PICTURES will include clips of each film, along with an in-depth discourse with Mr. Rushdie on how cinema has shaped both his work and the continued legacy of this master of genre, form, and modern storytelling.
 
Ticket Information
Tickets are only available through Eventbrite by clicking here or on the ticket icon above and will not be on sale at the box office.
Doors will open at approximately 7:30PM. Seating is general admission. Your Eventbrite ticket — either printed or displayed on your smartphone — is required for entrance.
A limited number of VIP tickets include priority reserved seating and a photo-op with Mr. Rushdie following the screening.
If you are an SVA student, you may purchase up to two $5.00 tickets for yourself and a guest (SVA staff/faculty may purchase up to two $10.00 tickets).  Please ensure that you have a current, valid SVA ID with you, as you will not be permitted to enter without it.
All tickets are final sale. There are no refunds or exchanges.
 
Concessions Information
Concessions are not available for purchase at SVA Theatre. Guests are welcome to bring food and drink. Glass bottles are not permitted.
