"My Entire High School Sinking Into the Sea" Screening and Q&A

As part of After School Special: The 2018 School of Visual Arts Alumni Film & Animation Festival, we are pleased to present graphic novelist, animator, writer, director, and SVA alumnus Dash Shaw’s (BFA 2005 Illustration) first feature-length animated film, My Entire High School Sinking Into the Sea (2016). Shaw will be on hand following the film for a Q&A. The feature will be preceded by the short film series Makin’ Things and the world premiere of the short film Noise by another multi-hypenate artist/director and SVA alumnus, Jim McKenzie (BFA 2011 Computer Art, Computer Animation and Visual Effects).  The Q&A will be moderated by current student Stephanie Kim (BFA 2019 Illustration).
Synopsis: An earthquake causes a high school to float into the sea, where it slowly sinks like a shipwreck. Featuring the voices of Jason Schwartzman, Lena Dunham, Reggie Watts, and Susan Sarandon.
My Entire High School Sinking Into the Sea is rated PG-13, and some material may be inappropriate for children under the age of 13. Children under the age of 5 may not be admitted.

Ticket Information
All After School Special festival screenings are free and open to the public. General Admission RSVPs via Eventbrite are appreciated, but not necessary, and do not guarantee admittance. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will open approximately 30 minutes prior to each screening.

Concessions Information
A limited amount of free popcorn, water, and snacks (sponsored by KIND Snacks and Soylent) will be offered at all screenings. Otherwise, concessions are not available for purchase at SVA Theatre. Guests are welcome to bring food and drink. Glass bottles and alcohol are not permitted.
