Join the Metro NY Chapter of the US National Committee to UN Women for a film screening that will stun you, a fascinating panel, and a reception in recognition of the “Orange the World” Campaign, UN Women’s initiative to end violence against women. We encourage everyone to wear your best orange as a sign a solidarity as part of the 16 Days of Activism.
Narrated by Academy Award-nominee Jessica Chastain, I Am Jane Doe chronicles the battle American mothers are waging on behalf of their daughters, who were trafficked for commercial sex on Backpage.com, the adult classifieds formerly associated with the Village Voice.
Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion and Q&A session with renowned experts in the fight against human trafficking. Panelists include:
