“Hate in America: Stories from the Files of the Southern Poverty Law Center”

Joining Hoylman will be film producer/director Rebecca Teitel, Director of the Center on Extremism at the Anti-Defamation League Oren Segal, and Intelligence Project Director of the Southern Poverty Law Center Heidi Beirich.

In this provocative documentary, NBC and Investigation Discovery partnered with Civil Rights attorney Morris Dees and the Southern Poverty Law Center to investigative the roots of hate in America. Emmy-award winning journalist Tony Harris travels the country to explore three different hate crimes – ranging from a race-fueled murder in Jackson, Mississippi, to a massacre in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, to a brutal attack on the streets of New York City. Harris sits down with victims, their loved ones, law enforcement and even a former White Supremacist to reveal what drives these vicious attacks — and how communities across the United States are fighting back.

This event is free and open to the public.  Space is limited so please RSVP to [email protected] or 212-633-8052.
