"The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie" 35mm Screening and Q&A

As part of After School Special: The 2018 School of Visual Arts Alumni Film & Animation Festival, we are pleased to present a special screening The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004) on 35mm film, followed by a Q&A with SVA BFA Cartooning alumnus Derek Drymon, who served as executive producer and co-writer on the film (in addition to co-writing the SpongeBob theme song!). The film will be preceded by the new animated short film Frog Dog Log, created by SVA BFA Animation alumnus Jared D. Weiss. The Q&A will be moderated by current student Olivia Petshaft (BFA 2019 Animation).
Synopsis: SpongeBob SquarePants takes leave from the town of Bikini Bottom in order to track down King Neptune’s stolen crown.
The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie is rated PG, and some material may be inappropriate for children under the age of 8. Children under the age of 3 may not be admitted.
…. And come early to enjoy augmented and virtual reality and music video experiences in the lobby.
Ticket Information
All After School Special festival screenings are free and open to the public. General Admission RSVPs via Eventbrite are appreciated, but not necessary, and do not guarantee admittance. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will open approximately 30 minutes prior to each screening.

Concessions Information
A limited amount of free popcorn, water, and snacks (sponsored by KIND Snacks and Soylent) will be offered at all screenings. Otherwise, concessions are not available for purchase at SVA Theatre. Guests are welcome to bring food and drink. Glass bottles and alcohol are not permitted.
