Event hosted by: SVA Theatre
As part of After School Special: The 2024 School of Visual Arts Alumni Film & Animation Festival, we are pleased to present the NYC Premiere screening of the feature film Hangdog (2023), followed by a Q&A with the film’s director / co-writer, SVA alumnus Matt Cascella (BFA 2008 Film and Video), and other members of the film’s cast and crew, including lead actor Desmin Borges (FX’s You’re the Worst). The Q&A will be moderated by current SVA student Abigail Marshall (BFA 2025 Film).
Synopsis: Anxiety-riddled Walt embarks on a comic odyssey through Portland, Maine to retrieve his stolen dog before his girlfriend, Wendy, returns from her business trip, or risk losing them both.
Hangdog is not rated by the MPAA, and some material may be inappropriate for children under the age of 17. Children ages 3 and under may not be admitted.
Doors will open approximately 30 minutes prior to each screening. Guests can enjoy a special selection of videos by SVA alumni in the lobby while waiting to enter.
