2025 Annual Public Art Symposium: ‘Abstracting Public Art’

Madison Square Park Conservancy’s annual public art symposium showcases our longstanding commitment to fostering discussions on contemporary art in civic space. Each gathering remains free and open to the public.

The 12th annual symposium is inspired by Improvisations in the Park and will feature discussions with artists Larry Bell, Rachel Berwick, Gisela Colón, Carl D’Alvia, Torkwase Dyson, Spencer Finch, and Anthony McCall. Our curator moderators will include Denise Markonish, James Merle Thomas, and Jason Rosenfeld. The program will conclude with a 12-string guitar performance by Elias Solomon.
