“KPop Demon Hunters” Screening and Q&A

Sep 26, 2026 | 2:00 pm

As part of After School Special: The 2026 School of Visual Arts Alumni Film & Animation Festival, we are pleased to present a screening of Netflix’s Oscar-winning animated film, KPop Demon Hunters (2025).  Join award-winning production designer Dave Bleich (BFA 1992 Illustration) after the screening for a Q&A where he’ll discuss his work on the film’s creative team.

The feature will be preceded by the NYC premiere of the animated short film First Haircut by Disney·Pixar artist Ivo Kos (MFA 1991 Computer Art).

Synopsis: A world-renowned K-Pop girl group balance their lives in the spotlight with their secret identities as demon hunters.

KPop Demon Hunters originally opened in theatres in June 2025.  It was nominated for two 2026 Academy Awards, winning both Best Animated Feature Film and Best Original Song.

KPop Demon Hunters is rated PG for for action/violence, scary images, thematic elements, some suggestive material, and brief language. Children under the age of 3 may not be admitted.

Doors will open approximately 30 minutes prior to each screening. Guests can enjoy a special selection of music videos from Annapurna Interactive’s RPG Musical, People of Note, in the lobby while waiting to enter. Alumni from SVA’s BFA Computer Art, Computer Animation and Visual Effects program — Timothy Doolen and Ben Meyer — served on the creative team of the video game.
