The Type Directors Club celebrates and amplifies the undeniable power of typography. We are a global community of experts and enthusiasts who are united by the shared belief that type drives culture. And culture drives type.
The Type Drives Culture conference on March 23 will be a day of presentations about the influence of type on business, music, fashion, politics, and publishing, and vice versa.
The all-day event will feature talks by and conversations with design innovator Milton Glaser, award-winning author/designer Steven Heller, multidisciplinary designer Emily Oberman, and designer Elizabeth Carey Smith. Among the highlights of the program will be Debbie Millman’s interview of TDC Medalist, type designer, Matthew Carter for her popular podcast, Design Matters.
Dan Rhatigan will present an overview of typography in adult zine publishing, Grammy nominee Brian Roettinger will discuss typography in the music industry, and five creative designers will provide the thinking behind new custom typefaces commissioned by high-profile corporations as part of recent brand redesigns.
Tickets include two-hour reception with the speakers.
