Animation Panel: Career Journeys
Thursday, September 22, 2022 6:30 pm
Event hosted by: School of Visual Arts
Event hosted by: SVA Theatre
As part of After School Special: The 2022 School of Visual Arts Alumni Film & Animation Festival, and in partnership with WIA NYC Chapter, we’re proud to present our first After School Special panel! Join multiple SVA alumni animators as they discuss their careers — from graduation to where they are today. The panel will include a range of industry pros, from those just starting out, to seasoned veterans.
Panelists include: Chrissy Fellmeth (BFA 2008 Animation), Ashley Gerst (MFA 2011 Computer Art), Monique Henry-Hudson (BFA 2011 Computer Art, Computer Animation and Visual Effects), Rose Kang (BFA 2021 Animation), and Jake Kaplan (BFA 2017 Animation). Their combined credits include Ferdinand, Incredibles 2, Lightyear, Metalocalypse, Our Cartoon President, Spies in Disguise, Teenage Euthanasia, and myriad other film, TV, and commercial projects. Current SVA student Beth Keough (BFA 2023 Animation) will moderate the Q&A.
Though this panel is mainly geared towards aspiring animators, all are welcome. Children ages 5 and under will not be admitted.
Doors will open approximately 30 minutes prior to each event, and guests can enjoy music videos by Kevin Slack (BFA 2008 Film and Video) in the lobby while waiting to enter.
