As part of After School Special: The 2022 School of Visual Arts Alumni Film & Animation Festival, we are pleased to present a screening of the Peabody Award-winning documentary Mayor (2020), followed by a Q&A with the film’s director (and also producer, editor, cinematographer, and composer!), SVA alumnus David Osit (MFA 2011 Social Documentary Film). Current SVA student Jessy Price (MFA 2023 Social Documentary Film) will moderate the Q&A.
Synopsis: A look at the life of Musa Hadid, the charismatic mayor of Palestinian city Ramallah, who aspires to lead the city into the future.
Mayor is not rated by the MPAA, and some material may be inappropriate for children under the age of 17. Children ages 12 and under will not be admitted.
Doors will open approximately 30 minutes prior to each screening, and guests can enjoy music videos by Kevin Slack (BFA 2008 Film and Video) in the lobby while waiting to enter.
