MFA Design for Social Innovation presents the 2024 thesis show. Celebrate this year’s graduating students who are creating ripples and waves. The MFA DSI Class of 2024 is driven by a deep need to create change, to disrupt the status quo through lived experiences, passion and creative leadership to effect real and meaningful social change within communities locally and globally.

Thesis projects include: building capacities with teachers to better support growing immigrant populations in NYC; principles and practices of restorative justice to support safety in our communities; culturally-relevant wellness platforms for healing; music as intergenerational engagement and activism; using theater and AI to respond to nurse burnout in Chinese nursing networks; reframing the plant-based diet as easy, culturally relevant and climate-smart; building community with Korean immigrant women facing gender discrimination; collaborations with young girls in Nicaragua who face systemic cycles of abuse, poverty, and oppressive injustice; and somatic practices to heal the impact of Indian caste systems on diaspora communities in the U.S.
