SVA Premieres: Best of 2020 & 2021 Screening

As the Friday night screening of After School Special: The 2021 School of Visual Arts Alumni Film & Animation Festival, we are pleased to present SVA Premieres: Best of 2020 & 2021 — an evening of exceptional live action, documentary, and animated shorts by School of Visual Arts‘ most recent graduates from nine different academic departments, including films nominated for Student Academy Awards. Join the filmmakers as they watch their films on the big screen!

The SVA Premieres: Best of 2021 films include:

“Ms. Meta Meta, Episode 1”, Annie Chen Ziyao
“Overseas” (excerpt), Yijia Zeng
“Pawn”, Zishu Xiang
“Slam Poet”, Ella Cesari
“The Tempest”, Julie Jungyoon Jang
“The Unconscious and the Reflective Nemesis”, Adrian Stanley Thomas

The films included in the evening are not rated by the MPAA, and some material may be inappropriate for children under the age of 17.  Children ages 12 and under will not be admitted.

Doors will open approximately 30 minutes prior to each screening, and guests can enjoy music videos by Samuel Bayer (BFA 1987 Media Arts) in the lobby while waiting to enter. Bayer, the director behind iconic videos like Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and Green Day’s “American Idiot”, will be present at select After School Special 2021 screenings for brief Q&As preceding the feature films.

Ticket Information
All After School Special 2021 screenings are free and open to the public. General Admission RSVPs via Eventbrite are appreciated, but not necessary, and do not guarantee admittance.  Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
