As part of After School Special: The 2019 School of Visual Arts Alumni Film & Animation Festival, we are pleased to present a screening of new laugh-out-loud film festival hit Sword of Trust (2019), followed by a Q&A with longtime collaborators director Lynn Shelton (MFA 1995 Photography and Related Media) and production designer John Lavin (MFA 1994 Fine Arts), both SVA alumni. The film will be preceded by the short film June by SVA alumna Jennifer Kachler (BFA 2009 Film and Video).  The Q&A will be moderated by current SVA student Joshua Spector (MFA 2020 Photography, Video and Related Media).
Synopsis: Cynthia and Mary show up to collect Cynthia’s inheritance from her deceased grandfather, but the only item she receives is an antique sword that was believed by her grandfather to be proof that the South won the Civil War.
Sword of Trust is rated R, and some material may be inappropriate for children under the age of 17. Children under the age of 5 may not be admitted.
…. And come early to enjoy augmented and virtual reality and music video experiences in the lobby.
Ticket Information
All After School Special festival screenings are free and open to the public. General Admission RSVPs via Eventbrite are appreciated, but not necessary, and do not guarantee admittance. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will open approximately 30 minutes prior to each screening.

Concessions Information
A limited amount of free popcorn, water, and snacks (sponsored by Brew Dr. Kombucha and Soylent) will be offered at select screenings. Otherwise, concessions are not available for purchase at SVA Theatre. Guests are welcome to bring food and drink. Glass bottles and alcohol are not permitted.
