SVA Theatre and present this special event….
Enjoy the film that inspired the new Broadway musical, The Band’s Visit (2007), shown on 35mm film.  Learn about the path from screen to stage and then enjoy the movie in its original big screen format in a room full of fellow theater fans.
This amazing movie is NOT available for streaming anywhere online, so this is a rare opportunity to see it in the way it was designed to be enjoyed.
Before the film, we’ll be joined by the musical’s Tony-nominated director, David Cromer, and bookwriter, Itamar Moses, who will explain the links between the movie and the stage production, and answer your questions.  And then we’ll “roll film!”
Yes, we know that you can stream this movie for $3, but it will be SO much more fun to enjoy it on the BIG SCREEN in a room full of fellow fans!
