On behalf of the Iqra Fund (www.iqrafund.org), we invite you to join us for a film screening, of Dukhtar (Daughter), a riveting story of a mother and daughter on the run after her daughter is promised in marriage to a much older man. Shot in the spectacular Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan, the very same area served by the Iqra Fund, whose mission is to provide sustainable access to quality education, especially for girls. As of April 2015, Iqra Fund has served 2,170 children (1,218 girls and 952 boys) with 50 full time teachers in 4 districts across tribal northern Pakistan, with all local staff, community leaders, teachers, government leaders, and partnering organizations.
Check-in begins: 6:00 p.m.
Program begins: 7:00 p.m.
After the screening, we will have a brief Q&A with the Dukhtar production team and with Iqra Fund founder, Genevieve Walsh.
