"7 A.M." Documentary Screening
Saturday, January 17, 2015
Event hosted by: Black Channel Films
Jason Black and Black Channel Films present the first feature-length cinema project that addresses the specific topic of historical Black entrepreneurship, with analysis of Black socio-economic experiences and outlook.
During the course of this independently funded project we’ll be talking to various historians, academics, business leaders and/or their direct family for a fact-based, in-depth discussion of the rise of Black enterprise beginning at the turn of the 20th century, and how the various stages of success and hindrance have shaped the society as a whole and Black society in particular. As the wealth gap continues to widen in America we hope to help start a dialogue of how self-initiative formed in Black society to address this disparity before and what, if any, steps can be taken to reverse these disparities today.
Starring Dr. Claud Anderson, Shalamar Blakely, A’Leila Bundles, Umar Johnson, Morris Levine, Brett Pulley and Don Peebles.
Multiple screenings will be presented at SVA Theatre on January 17, 2015.
