DCM18: The Del Close Marathon
Friday, June 24, 2016 -
Saturday, June 25, 2016
Event hosted by: The Upright Citizens Brigade
The Del Close Marathon is the largest improv festival in the world, and was founded by the Upright Citizens Brigade in 1999. The festival includes three days of continuous improv, panels, and parties in New York City. This year DCM will take place at 7 venues (9 stages and 1 podcast lounge), with over 600 shows by thousands of performers from around the world.
Del Close is generally considered the father of Improv. He was the driving force behind improvisational comedy in Chicago for over 30 years, influencing Bill Murray, Tina Fey, Mike Myers, John Belushi, Chris Farley, and the Upright Citizens Brigade, to name a few. After Del’s passing in 1999, the UCB started the Del Close Marathon to celebrate their mentor and keep alive his name and teachings for future generations.
The festival will take place from June 24th-26th at various venues throughout the city. Events at SVA Theatre will take place from June 24th-25th. For events and ticketing information, visit the DCM website or click the ticket icon above.
