SVA Short Film Fest 2014

A presentation of nine short films by the MPS Live Action Short Film Class of 2014.
MPS Live Action Short Film debuted as an SVA graduate program in 2010. Students write and direct one film for one year under the tutelage of reputable instructors and industry mentors. Employing a seasoned crew and abiding by a budget, MPS candidates create a professional-grade short film.
A reception will precede the films at 6PM.  The films will be screened beginning at 7PM.
2014 projects include:
The Boy Under The Piano, by Philippa Wong, about an autistic teen’s struggle to find his place in his large immigrant Chinese family.
Chateau Sauvignon: Terroir, by David Maire.
Crimson Rose, by Paige Zeitler about a young, headstrong super-heroine who tries to prove her worth in a city plagued by crime.
Destiny Jones, by Lesley Steele. While in the midst of solving an abuse case that hits close to home, detective Destiny Jones pays a visit to her own childhood abuser.
Dilemma, by Darshon Crudup, about high school sweethearts who find their relationship tested when their winter break reunion is interrupted by New York City’s “Stop and Frisk” initiative.
Erin’s Savings, by PingPing Song, about a Chinese brother and sister living in New York City who struggle to relate to each other after their parents’ divorce.
People Who Don’t Know Me, by Sarah Richardson, AKA SR Palm, about an awkward, anxiety-ridden teenage girl with a talent for songwriting and rock-star dreams who sees her fears and ideals tested when the frontman of her favorite band shows up on her doorstep.
The Runner, by Alon Gelnik. Sammy never realized that once you escape, you never stop running.
Who Killed Tom?, by Yingxin. Tom was the lucky star in John’s company until the day his body was found in the office.
