The AICP (Association of Independent Commercial Producers) Show, The Art & Technique of the American Commercial, is more than just an awards show judging the best work of the year. It’s an ongoing archival project with cultural and artistic significance. This year, with the help of the School of Visual Arts (SVA), AICP is pleased to offer a free screening of the 2017 AICP Show to students at films schools throughout New York City. AICP is committed to helping educate the next generation of filmmakers and creative leaders. The AICP Show offers insight into commercial filmmaking and the power of advertising. For many years, AICP has screened the Show for students around the country; this marks the first that we are presenting the Show to a cross-section of students from many schools around the New York City area.
Since the Show’s inception in 1992, the honored work is included in the archives of the Film Department at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), in New York. The Show is judged by close to 400 advertising and production professionals, and is assembled by a curatorial panel of prominent industry leaders.
