As part of After School Special: The 2023 School of Visual Arts Alumni Film & Animation Festival, we are pleased to present a screening of the Nintendo + Illumination animated film The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023) in 3D, preceded by an extended introduction by two SVA alumni — clearances manager Jon Kovel (BFA 2004 Film and Video) and storyboard artist Jeff Mednikow (BFA 2005 Animation) — who will discuss their time at SVA and respective journeys in the entertainment industry.

Synopsis: A plumber named Mario travels through an underground labyrinth with his brother, Luigi, trying to save a captured princess.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is rated PG, and some material may not be suitable for children. Children ages 3 and under may not be admitted.

Doors will open approximately 30 minutes prior to each screening, and guests can enjoy music videos by Vashtie Kola (BFA 2004 Film and Video) in the lobby while waiting to enter.

Ticket Information

All After School Special 2023 screenings are free and open to the public. General Admission RSVPs via Eventbrite are appreciated, but not necessary, and do not guarantee admittance. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
