Event hosted by: SVA's BFA Design department
Tokyo Graphic Passport is a series of events organized by +81 to bring prominent Japanese artists and designers who have garnered national and international recognition under the limelight on the global stages of New York City, Paris, Bangkok etc. This year the conference will be presented in collaboration with the Design and Advertising Department at School of Visual Arts. We aim to introduce and fortify conversations on contemporary Japanese art and design cultures to the wider and cosmopolitan audiences. The underlying concept that unifies the diverse participants and audience is the acute aesthetic sensibility regardless of creative genres.
3 artists and designers; Asami Kiyokawa, Kohei Nawa, Masashi Kawamura, who are on the forefront of the creative scene will give their presentations at School of Visual Arts. The panelists will discuss their work processes, inspirations, ideas and aesthetics. This will be a rare opportunity to engage with the behind-the-scenes ideas on the celebrated projects such as “PixCell” series, “Female Beauty Collection,” “Techne: Visual Workshop,” and more; all with distinctive styles and unique expressions. The panelists have won distinguished awards including Adobe Cutting Edge Award, Cannes Design Lion Gold, Best Debutante Award, Umehara Awards/Kirin Art Awards and others. Tokyo Graphic Passport will serve as a platform for cultural exchanges on the topic of visual communication.
